Happy New Year!!

I was reflecting on 2019 and feeling like I spent the whole year on "The Big One".
I realized that I completed a quilt for a coworkers retirementallergy pouches for my grandson, one for H2H for Jack's Basket, two for a friends grand twinsthe retreat quilt (I forgot to take pictures), The Big One, four quilt tops and I quilted a top for a friend.

Hey, that's not bad for my first full year with a sit down quilting machine and a full time job.

And then there is this:

I actually finished this quilt a couple of years ago.  I made it for my AWESOME supervisor.  She told me that she was going to retire when her daughter graduated from college.  I knew time was approaching so I made the quilt.  Then her daughter decided to get her masters degree so I stored the quilt.

She was transferred to another department, I was transferred to another department, then she came back.  I was bored stiff in my new position and I knew she had two openings so I asked if she had filled them and was she planning to retire in the next five years.  She said no and no, so I asked if she could get me transferred back.  That was five months ago.

Did I mention how AWESOME she is?

I gave her a card that said... Because:  I'm originally from Michigan, Alabama isn't in the Championship (they played football against each other this morning), neither of us have the view of palm trees in our near future, and I wanted her to know how much she means to me, I wanted her to have her quilt to curl up with for the game.

She loved it.  ROLL TIDE, VINCE!!!!!  (Yes, her name is Vince)  Enjoy.

Happy New Year!!

Wishing you more stitching time than I will have.
