Stitching time Week 5 - 1/25-31

First let's reflect.  My goals for the week were:

Quilt Janis' #2
Baste Susan's #3
Make progress on Morewood Mystery Quilt
Create labels for completed quilts.

I didn't get Susan's #3 basted, but I did get Dashing Duos basted, quilted, bound,

and labeled for one of my bff's retirement.  The backing fabric, which I had in my stash, couldn't be more fitting for the occasion.  Relax, Refresh, Renew.

I saw this label idea on a blog and I have to apologize, I couldn't find it to tag this morning.

So my goals for the week weren't a total loss.  And that's another PHD substitute off the list.

15 minutes per day this week = 6/7 days
15 minutes per day in January = 27/31 days
15 minutes per day in 2021 = 27/31 days

Percentage - 87%

2021 STASH TOTALS
Used last week:                             9.6 yards
Used year to date:                        39 yards
Added last week:                            2.7 yards
Added year to date:                        2.7 yards
Net year to date             -36.3 yards

64 days of no smoking and 0 lbs gained

Goals this week:

Bind Janis' #2
Label Janis' quilts and deliver
Make progress on Morewood Mystery, new clue due this week
Cut - My Favorite Color is MODA

I'm not sure why I've joined another BOM/QAL.  I have an awful time trying to keep up.

Wishing you more sewing time than I will have.

Stitching time week 4 - 1/18-24

This week went well.

I finished Susan's #2 which is made from her late fathers clothing and is the same as #1 except for the sweatshirt color.  This one is for her daughter so I did a loopy meander quilting.

I also finished Janis' #1 (I hope she's not looking) also from her late fathers clothing.  This is the first fleece backing that I've done but not the last.  It is so soft even before washing.

That's two more off the PHD list.  YAY!!!

15 minutes per day this week = 7/7 days
15 minutes per day in January = 21/24 days
15 minutes per day in 2021 = 21/24 days

Percentage - 88%

2021 STASH TOTALS
Used last week:                             17.5 yards
Used year to date:                        29.4 yards
Added last week:                            2.7 yards
Added year to date:                        2.7 yards
Net year to date             -26.7 yards

A couple of weeks ago I stated that I would count the tops that were done as stash out when they were finished and anything new as it is pieced.  I've decided not to count them out until they are complete.  Maybe this will encourage me to continue with my 2021 resolution of basting within a week of completing a top.

Stitching time - week 3 1/11-17

I managed to finish Susan's #1 complete with binding but no label yet.  All 3 of her quilts are similar.  Her dad was an Auburn Alum.  Only the large Auburn block is different in the first 2. And the 3rd child is an LSU fan so his sashing is different.  Here's #1...

2021 STASH TOTALS
Used last week:                             11.9 yards
Used year to date:                        11.9 yards
Added last week:                            0 yards
Added year to date:                        0 yards
Net year to date             -11.9 yards

15 minutes per day this week = 5/7 days
15 minutes per day in January = 14/17 days
15 minutes per day in 2021 = 14/17 days

Percentage - 82%

I didn't make it to the sewing room on Friday or Saturday this week. On Saturday, DH and I decided to take a road trip.  Our state doesn't have a lottery so we took a road trip to go to the state line and buy a few lottery tickets.  I know it's not the most logical thing to do but it gives us some time together that's not in front of the television.  Then we stopped to eat dinner out.  It was a nice day.  Normally Saturday is my day to clean house then do what I love.

I did get into the sewing room today.  I may need to get into the sewing room early in the morning so I can report without being late for the party.  Sunday is my day to buy my MIL's groceries (she's 90), do DH's bookkeeping (he's self employed) and then go grocery shopping a second time to get our groceries.  Believe me, if grocery delivery was available, I would use it.  We barely have pickup and then it's hit or miss.  Mostly miss, thus, go shopping.

Tomorrow is Martin Luther King/Robert E Lee day so I should have some sewing time.  I have made a list of things I want to accomplish in the sewing room but I also have to take my old vehicle to the dealership to see if they will buy it.

Today is day 49 of not smoking and I haven't gained a pound.  I sure hope I can keep it up.

Wishing you more stitching time than I will have.

Time to Stitch: Week 2 of 2021, January 4-10

The only day I didn't stitch this week was my birthday.  I met a friend for drinks after work instead.

My sewing room gives me solace between working and working cooking dinner so unless there is something special going on I should be able to spend AT LEAST 15 minutes in it.

15 minutes per day this week = 6/7 days
15 minutes per day in January = 9/10 days
15 minutes per day in 2021 = 9/10 days

Percentage - 90%

I'm gonna try this stash report too

2021 Stash Totals
Used last week:            0.0 yards
Used year to date:      0.0 yards
Added last week:        0.0 yards
Added year to date:    0.0 yards
Net used year to date:    0.0 yards

My plan is to count the tops that are already pieced when they are finished and anything new as it is pieced.

My question to you is this.  If I paid for it last year but it hasn't arrived yet do I have to count it as fabric in when it arrives?

Wishing you more stitching time than I will have.

15 Minutes to Stitch

I'm joining Life in Pieces this year for 15 minutes to stitch.  I know I can keep up with the stitching but I hope I can keep up with the posting and linking.

My week starts on Monday so my number of days will be a little different.

15 minutes per day this week = 3/3 days
15 minutes per day in January = 3/3 days
15 minutes per day in 2021 = 3/3 days

Percentage - 100%

I would love to join the stash reports but I'm not sure how to calculate a scrap quilt and do you only count if the project is completed?  If someone could help me with that I would greatly appreciate it.

As far as my resolution,(Baste within a week of completing a flimsy) I completed a flimsy and got it basted 2 days later.  And I completed another flimsy and have the backing ready to baste.  Th
at will be done by the time next weekend is over.

Wishing you more quilting time than I will have.
