January = Whirlwind

 I don't even know how or where to start.

I did get a quilt finished during the first half of the month.  Build-A-Quilt 2019-20

This is the first of my PHDs to be completed.

Then we had great sadness in our family.  We lost the last of my children's grandparents.  DH's mother passed at the age of 90 years and 11 months.  She was always quite independent until she spent the month of October in a hospital bed.  She just couldn't get her strength back. Since DH has no siblings, DD, a couple dear friends, and I have organized and had an estate sale.  Now to get what's left taken care of.

Then DH has announced that he is retiring after 48 years.  Self employed for 37 of them.  So I have been destroying files and trying to get his office cleaned out on top of everything else.  Him retiring isn't a downer but having to clean the office is.  I think we have it figured out that I can retire in January 2023.

I told him I would spend the month of February getting all of this done then I'm done.

On an up note, one of my dear friends asked if I wanted to go to the quilt show in Paducah, KY.  Of course I do and I'll even drive!!!  Something to look forward to.

Wishing you more stitchin time than I will have.
