Planning and Participation

At stitching one Thursday the a/c wasn't working correctly.  And as we were planning our first ever In-Town retreat for the next week, we sure were hoping they would get it fixed.  When I got home that afternoon the air in our house wasn't any better.  The a/c wasn't working there either.  DH decided since it was blowing air it must be that the filters needed changing.  So I went to the dreaded box store for a new filter.  Several hours later still no cold air, but too late to call the repairman on Friday.  Thank goodness the weather for mother's day weekend was in the 70s.  So open the windows, enjoy the breeze, and please call the repairman on Monday.  He was there within an hour.  We dodged another bullet, the unit was built in 1999 and we didn't have to replace it, this time.

Then it was time for our retreat.  Four of us had gathered the first of the week and made goody bags for everyone with lots of fun stuff in them.

The big day arrived and we had 23 attendees.  We were to sew from 9-4 for three days.  WHAT FUN!!!

Lots of laughing, talking, eating, and a little stitchin went on.  We divided the days among us and we brought lunch in each day.

Susan (left in the bottom picture) came up with a block for us to make.

Everyone participate.  One didn't turn hers in because she said it was ugly.

Then with a random number generator one lucky winner takes the blocks and is challenged with making a quilt.  That winner was................wait for it..........................ME!!!

I have spent two days (so far) giggling and laughing at these adorable dolls.

I already have the top put together except the border, which is another story, and I have my quilting ideas in my head.  I will post when it's complete.

Until next time...

Wishing you more stitchin time than I will have.

Rose
