Lots to Tell

It's that time of year again.  Last year I made two batches of strawberry jam and DH and I only had 2 half pint jars to last us all year.  This year I made three.

Another customer quilt completed.  This is the third quilt Mary has brought to me.  She let's me experiment on them.

I have the hardest time getting started (sometimes days) but once I do, they seem to go well.

The Front taken with the light off so you can see the quilting

The back.  She said she got two for one.

Then I loaded my BIL's unofficial QOV.  I finished it in time to use it for decoration at our guild's QOV ceremony.

I'm really proud of how this one turned out.  I prefer to quilt from the front of the machine but on this one I used a patriotic pantograph.  The Eagle heads look pretty good, the swirls? not so good.

I will present it to him while in Michigan in August.

Our guild held our third annual QOV Ceremony in lieu of our May guild meeting on the 9th.
These recipients stated that it was an honor to receive one of these quilts.  No people, it was our honor to do it for you.  Thank you for your service.

I got home that afternoon and the A/C at home wasn't working.  DH said he thought it was just the filters needed replacing.  So, next morning (Friday) I went to get a new filter.  Not the problem but he didn't call the repairman. Thank goodness this weekend was to be pleasant, only in the 70s.  Open the windows and enjoy until Monday.

Last night it was reported that the Northern Lights would be visible as far south as Alabama.  This is on DH's bucket list.  We have talked about taking the motorhome to north Michigan and parking for a month or two to see if we could catch them.

We lost confidence in our favorite local weatherman (who hung the moon), he kept saying the he wished they would quit saying that the aurora would be visible here.  So DH and I went on to bed before 9:00 as usual.

What a disappointment when we got up this morning and our daughter and son both sent pictures and the fella that lives next door posted pictures from his back yard.  DH was so let down!!!  Only to find out from the weekend weatherman that they should be visible again tonight.  These two old farts (you'd think we were farmers, early to bed, early to rise) are going to do our best to stay up an extra hour or so.  Now, it's past bedtime and the favorite weatherman says the chances have been reduced.  So DH is going to bed and I'm staying up for a while longer.

Not going to happen. 😞

Wishing you more stitchin time than I will have.
Rose

Your quilting looks so pretty! That QOV is beautiful, I always get a tear in my eye when I see the vets with their quilts.
Sorry about the Northern lights!
Whatever is in the jars sure looks good - strawberries?
