I have decided to participate in Prairie Moon's Final Countdown. And I will participate in the Studio Organization Challenge.
Countdown Task 1 was to finish a quick project:
This project was started over a year ago. I invited a friend over to "play" on the longarm. She's not really a quilter but wanted to check it out. After some scrappy scribbling I got out a panel I had and gathered some backing and batting and talked her through some stitches. She decided it would make a great church nursery quilt. Time got away from us and I needed the quilt frame for something else, so it came off the frame, got folded and stored, and I moved on.
When the first challenge was to complete a quick finish, I knew this would be it. So, I finished quilting it and added the binding.
Countdown Task 2 was to clean out a storage area.:
You know how, when you try to organize or rearrange something, you end up not being able to find anything? Or, in rearranging you just shove things in places to make it look better or to make room for something else? Well, that's what happened here, and it was time to fix it.
So, when this challenge was posted, it was an easy decision. These three drawers needed organizing.
And Countdown Task 3 was to make a project inventory:
I feel like I've cheated on this one because I already had it completed. Since I joined Gail at quiltinggail.com for the PHD challenge I already had this list. I actually try to keep a running list of projects and the want to dos. So here is the current list.
You can see that I have already finished piecing one of the projects and moved it to the "to be quilted" section. And I have scratched one off the list. And that's a story for another post. OH! and now I can cross off the church nursery quilt!
I may have purchased more than needed (or not) in Paducah in 2022. I will try to remember that when I attend in 2023. Yeah, right!
Wishing you more stitchin time than I will have.
