After the first three weeks at home we started alternating a week in the office and a week at home (now with laptops and headsets). I am limited at what I can accomplish from home to answering and processing emails and answering the phone. That leaves a lot of sewing time since I set up my "home office" in the sewing room. I wear the headset while sewing and when the phone rings I answer and I check the email about once an hour or so, process them and get back to sewing.
I was at home one week and my MIL had to have surgery, then she spent the next week in the hospital with a blood clot. My super supervisor allowed me to work from home the second week in a row because I commute to work is 40 minutes in the opposite direction from the hospital where my MIL was (in case I was needed). Then another week at home because it was my week.
I started this quilt on Sunday while sitting with my MIL at her home and finished it on Thursday while working from home.
It was made with a layer cake and some white fabric. I did order some yardage of a coordinating fabric that was striped to use for the border and I have some small stripe fabric, also coordinating that I will use for the binding.
I've been quilting for many years but I have never tried a mitered border until now. I quite impressed myself. Check it out.
If you zoom way in you can see the seam in the beige w/flower stripe.
And then there's this.....
For some reason every time the toilet paper runs out my 7 year old granddaughter creates this instead of just putting the toilet paper on the roll.
The first time she did it I told her the toilet was in time out because I caught it smoking. And that she would have to use another bathroom for a while.
What's a grandmother to do?????
This is going to be another work from home week. Although Wednesday is deadline day so the phones will be busy on Tuesday and Wednesday. I still plan to start a quilt or maybe two.
Wishing you more quilting time than I will have.
